Capstone 1 Title: Kava as a Natural Remedy for Dental Anxiety Speakers: Sippara Birri and Kimberly Selby Course Description: Kava is an herb that has been used for centuries as a remedy for many different conditions, including anxiety. Recent human clinical trials have proven the anxiolytic and antidepressant efficacy of kava extract, and we will be discussing whether or not it would be an effective option to alleviate dental anxiety. Course Objectives:
Capstone 2 Title: Endocannabinoid System and the Oral Cavity Speakers: Soze Jabbary and Mackenzie Miller Course Description: This course provides information for oral health professionals regarding the growing prevalence and use of CBD products. It discusses topics that dental professionals should be aware of when treating a patient who uses these products. We also discuss the research that has been done on CBD use in the oral cavity and its potential for future use in dentistry with further research. Course Objectives:
